Steacy Hinton has been the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) Consultant with Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board for the past three years, after twenty years as a classroom teacher. The best part of her day is speaking with students, parents/guardians and local community partners about amazing apprenticeship opportunities available right now at home.
Steacy loves the variety, problem solving, creativity and physicality of skilled trades careers. The 'earn while you learn' model is pretty great too! Steacy hopes to inspire others to treat apprenticeship with the same excitement as other post-secondary education pathways.
