Want to learn more about the skilled trades? Join us on Wednesday, November 9, as the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board and Simcoe County District School Board co-host a Turn Your Coop Into an Apprenticeship livestream event from 7-8pm.
This information session will provide you an opportunity to:
- Meet your school board's Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) coordinator
- Understand how the OYAP program works
- Hear from a local OYAP employer & apprentices
- Learn about the benefits of starting your apprenticeship training while in high school
- Receive coaching on how to turn your co-op placement into an apprenticeship
- Ask questions!
The skilled trades are hiring right now in Simcoe County, and we are proud to promote the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) to students and parents/ guardians.
Each year, over 150 students in Simcoe County and Muskoka are registered as apprentices as a result of their high school co-op placement. This is an important head start in your child's apprenticeship, with some students becoming licensed in their trade early in their career.
We look forward to seeing you!
